Experiences and attractions in Polignano

Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare is one of the most visited towns in Puglia. Lama Monachile, here in the picture, is probably one of the most well-known and photographed places in the entire region, often used as Apulia official postcard. The bridge that overlooks that, has Roman origin: it was part of the Via Traiana, the well-known Via that connected ancient Rome to Brindisi, the most important harbour of that time for sealing to the eastern lands.

Polignano is a gem! Its small but extremely nice and suggestive historical town is the ideal place for a romantic walk, to be concluded on one of the balconies overlooking the sea to watch the moon. The night could go on with a dinner in a sea restaurant (there are so many with excellent quality!).

It is the shape of its coast, that makes this place an important session of the world diving cliff masters, (the higher cliff in Polignano is 27 meters), sponsored by the company Red Bull. The Red Bull Cliff Diving is an event that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

The nearby (4 km) village of San Vito and its abbey deserves mention without a doubt. We leave you the chance to discover the legend that surrounds this place by your own….

Polignano a Mare is also the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, the singer and author of one of the most famous Italian songs in the world: "Nel Blu dipinto di blu", or better known as "Volare". In your walk in Polignano, do not forget to take a “Selfie” with the background of his statue and the sea behind!

Experiences:  Boat trip by Rent Me Charter with visit to the sea caves

Events:          Red Bull Cliff Diving (generally between the beginning of june and mid-September);

Kite Festival (end of May).
